How to motivate yourself in the early stages of business

Working on your own every day can be hard, especially as a new business owner. At Home Care Preferred we believe that while our franchise owners work for themselves, they should not feel they are in it by themselves. Understandably, however, there will be days when you need to give yourself a little nudge or boost– especially during the early stages when you are still learning the ropes.

Tip 1: Make a daily plan

At the end of each day make a to-do list and plan a day ahead. As well as long-term business goals, short-term smaller ones are just as important to help you stay on track and focused.

Tip 2: Network

Join networking groups where you’ll find lots of like-minded entrepreneurs. You’ll benefit from the added knowledge, business advice and business relationships.

Tip 3: Reward yourself

When you accomplish goals (even the smaller ones) be sure to reward yourself. It can be anything from taking a break, an afternoon off or even popping out for a drink in the evening with friends and work colleagues. Motivating yourself with little rewards can help you focus better and improve your productivity throughout the day.

Tip 4: Being Positive

It is important to stay positive in the early stages of your business. There will be times when things do not go to plan, but being positive will help you stay motivated.
