Easy ways to promote your new franchise business (plus a marketing planning checklist)

If you’re considering a new franchise opportunity and becoming self-employed there are a number of things you need to get in order before opening to the public and inviting in your new clients. – Social Media:

Platforms like Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn are where people will be looking for your business and services. Your customers are relying on these platforms to find out more about what you do so make sure to start early and build a targeted social following. We recommend you grow organically with credible people interested in the brand, but you can always amplify your efforts with a little advertising (see below). Remember, followers, aren’t the most important thing on social media. Engagement, mentions and interactions are far more important and help spread the word about your business more effectively.

– Advertising:

The internet allows nearly all new businesses to effectively promote their business, products or services with budget-friendly solutions to a target audience. Consider some online social media advertising, start off small and choose your desired audience, location or interest group. Once you see a return on your investment you can build on this using the analytics provided. Consider using high-quality imagery and video when promoting your business online, you may need to hire a professional to help with this so budget appropriately.

– Email:

A tried and tested tactic. Businesses have used email marketing for years, but this shouldn’t deter you. Email is still highly regarded, and you should aim to start building your own email marketing list as soon as possible. Once you have a handful of subscribers, start off small by sending a monthly update to ensure they are kept up-to-date with all of your news. As your list grows you might consider hiring a professional to help you create more detailed campaigns and newsletters.

– Content:

Have you heard the phrase “content is king”? Never underestimate the power of great content! As a new franchise business, content will help to drive traffic to your website, help you find new clients and will also populate your social media channels with useful information for your clients.


If you think you’ll struggle to write great content or keep up with social posts make sure to budget this appropriately from the start. With marketing, consistency is key to your success so plan before you dive into investing in a business.
